The temperature of the imbibed moisture in the FIRST 24 hrs is the most critical (melting Snow/ cold rain fronts are bad)
Temperatures of sandy soils fluctuate more from day to night than soils with higher moisture holding capacity
Plant deeper- temps at 2-2.5” will fluctuate less than at temps at 1.5”
Plant higher stress emergence score hybrids first
Plan on losing 15-20% of drop in a stressful environment with cold soil and temperature fluctuation- if you want 27-28k final stand on the sand, you probably should drop 33k+ in stressful cold soil
